  • Overview

    Mess Hall Manager is responsible for all meal/break preparations for 300+ people, as well as inventory management and weekly fresh orders.  The facility is located remote western Alaska, and is operational 24hrs/day. This is a seasonal position from April thru August.

    Responsibilities

    • Weekly menu planning and execution.
    • Maintains inventories and orders food and supplies.
    • Ensures that sanitary conditions are in full compliance with all Federal and State regulations.
    • Trains and supervises mess hall staff.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Excellent communication skills a must, and strong ability to work with multicultural crew.
    • Experience in quantity food preparation, while maintaining quality standards.
    • Must be able to prepare two different entrees each meal, to accommodate dietary needs of the crew.  Soups from scratch.
    • Creative variety in weekly meal planning, with excellent utilization of ‘leftovers’.
    • Maintain energetic and positive attitude while working 12 or more hours per day, 7 days per week.
    • Substantial cooking experience
    • Baking experience desired
    • Good organizational skills
