  • Overview

    Primary responsibility of the production manager is to oversee, coordinate and direct all areas of production including fresh / frozen products and roe sujiko.  Responsibilities include monitoring all aspects of production from the time product arrives to the plant, until shipment. He/she will ensure adherence to product quality, employee safety and environmental safety standards. Position reports to the Assistant Plant Manager.


    • Oversee production to attain the most efficient, cost effective operation.
    • Supervise production supervisors and processing employees.
    • Ensure full and proper training of supervisors and processing employees.
    • Generates production schedule.
    • Ensures that products are produced following established quality guidelines and buyer specification.
    • Identifying training needs, and ensure proper training is provided
    • Maintain consistent written documentation on employee performance.
    • Ensure safety of plant personnel by overseeing the safe use of equipment and proper PPE.
    • Ensure the production of a quality product.
    • Maintain consistently accurate inventories.
    • Ensure timely ordering of production supplies
    • Other related duties as assigned.


    • Minimum of one year’s experience in a supervisory position within the seafood processing industry preferred.
    • Must have knowledge of HACCP and OSHA standards.
    • Excellent organizational and written communication skills required.
    • Able to work well under pressure, 12 or more hours a day, 7 days a week.
    • Must be able to live and work in confined quarters.
    • Must be able to work with other department managers in a team like atmosphere.
    • Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully to a diverse workforce.
    • Must be team-oriented and able to work with cross-functional work groups.
    • Maintaining and striving for an inclusive and positive work environment for all employees.
