  • Overview

    Responsible for assisting the Office Manager with all accounting operations performed at the Vessel.  The Asst. Office Manager will also function as production accountant and payroll coordinator.  Position will be on a rotation and is responsible for relieving both the Office Manager and Office Assistant throughout the year.  Reports to Vessel Manager.


    • Maintain accurate records of all product produced and shipped on a daily basis.
    • Work with Production staff in determining appropriate production accounting/tally computations.
    • Accurately complete vessel's bi weekly payroll as required by Seattle Office.
    • Monitor vessel accounting transactions so that they will conform to company procedures and policies.
    • Relay information to Seattle office and other company locations as required in a timely manner.
    • Radio communications with shore plants and other vessels.
    • Sharp understanding of Innova system, extrapolation of data and troubleshooting.
    • Maintain confidential personnel and payroll records.
    • Other tasks as assigned by Vessel Manager.


    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Experience with accounting principles and practices.
    • Maintain a congenial rapport with fishermen and buyers.
    • Numerical aptitude and 10 key by touch.
    • Must be able to live and work in remote locations, confined quarters and share room with others.
    • Must be able to work independently requiring little supervision.
    • Energetic and efficient: Must be able to work 12 or more hours per day, 7 days a week in fast paced environment.
    • Micro-computer, spreadsheet, word processing experience required.
    • Payroll experience required.
    • Previous bookkeeping experience and knowledge of seafood industry.
    • Satisfactory completion of drug screen test.

    Working Conditions

    Must be able to work 7 days a week, 12-16 hours a day in wet, cold conditions. There are areas on the vessel that contain moving and loud machinery, and hearing protection and other safety and protective equipment is required.
