  • Overview

    Maintain and repair all on board electrical equipment and systems.  Employment is on a 2 month rotation basis; reports to Chief Engineer and Plant Manager.


    • Maintain ship board electrical systems including seafood processing equipment.
    • Manage inventory and place restock orders
    • Maintain commercial galley equipment


    • Background in Marine, Industrial/Commercial electrical required
    • Good communication and trouble shooting skills
    • Knowledge of commercial galley equipment and ship board electrical systems
    • Strong knowledge of motor controls and related systems
    • Understanding of all types of electrical test equipment and meters
    • Energetic able to work 12 or more hours per day, 7 days per week.
    • Willing to work on rotation of 2 months on two months off shoreside in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Must be physically and mentally able to work and live in confined situations.
    • Prompt, reliable and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
    • Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

    Working Conditions

    Must be able to work 7 days a week, 12 hours a day in wet, cold conditions. There are areas within the plant that contain moving and loud machinery, and hearing protection and other safety and protective equipment is required.



    • Depending on experience.
    • Hourly.
    • Transportation from Seattle to Alaska, room and board included.
