GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant refrigeration system under the direct guidance of the Chief Engineer. Also responsible for repairs and maintenance of plant equipment and machinery as assigned. Ensure that all company standards in terms of policy and safety are met.

This position is responsible for the daily movement and coordination of container vans between the cannery, van yard, and barge. Work directly with Northland Services to coordinate receipt and dispatch of barge transfers. Operate and maintain Northland Services’ equipment on loan to the facility. Coordinate the plant’s 20’ dry and 40’ refer container van needs with production supervisors. Maintain accurate temperature, container van logs and an accessible and organized van yard. Assist with other plant maintenance projects and in Bunkhouse maintenance during non –production period. Other duties as a assigned. Reports to Power Plant Maintenance and Plant Manager.

Monitor the processing of Pacific Cod, Herring, and Salmon to ensure all quality specifications are met. Position reports to the QA Manager. Must be able to work 7 days a week, 16 hours a day in wet, cold conditions. There are areas within the plant that contain moving and loud machinery. Hearing protection and other safety and protective equipment is required.

Supervise all areas of crew safety and provide medical treatment on a fish processing facility in remote area of Alaska. Responsible for management and coordination of health, safety and regulatory compliance and implementing a safe working culture consistent with corporate policies and objectives. Oversee safety issues during maintenance and repair activities as needed. This position is served by two similarly trained individuals working opposite shifts who report directly to the Vessel Manager. Safety compliance support is provided by the corporate Environmental, Health & Safety Dept.

Overall maintenance of plant under direction of the Chief Engineer. Responsible for general operation and maintenance of plants mechanical systems. Mechanical system includes generators, hydraulic systems, water systems, and sanitation systems. Performs the routine preventative maintenance and parts inventory of the factory equipment such as: fish size sorter, printers, box tape machines, block ejectors, conveyors, electric and hydraulic.

The employee services assistant has overall responsibility for assisting the Employee Services Director & HR Manager with Human Resource related projects including and not limited to recruiting, Interviewing, orientations, attendance, processor related issues, data entry and filing for the Seward Plant. Must have a friendly and professional demeanor and respect the confidentiality of all employees and the employer. This is a seasonal position from approximately April 1st through September and possibly beyond.

The payroll coordinator has overall responsibility for preparation, processing, and distribution of the hourly paid payroll for the Seward Plant. Ensure that the hourly payroll is correctly processed in a timely manner with respect to the confidentiality of the employees and the employer. This is a seasonal position from approximately April 1 through September 30.

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the ship’s 1300 horsepower R-22 refrigeration system including plate freezers, blast freezer, RSW chillers, cold storage, galley coolers and containerized cooler units. This position reports directly to the Refrigeration Engineer.

This position is responsible for completing construction and carpentry projects as assigned. Qualified candidates must be able to follow instructions and work well in a team. This person must have strong inter-personal skills and possess a high level of safety awareness and mechanical aptitude with the ability to independently exercise sound decision-making.

This position is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing the facility's refrigeration systems in order to maximize throughout while optimizing quality and adhering to safe operating procedures. This position is also responsible for assisting in the upkeep, repair, and operation of the facility's ammonia refrigeration systems including: tunnel freezer and blast cell freezers, flake ice machines, RSW chillers, and the Mess Halls various freezer and cooler units. During the processing season, optimal operation of the refrigeration equipment is crucial to the facility's overall efficiency. The refrigeration system has a capacity of 14,000+ lbs. of Ammonia, three 500 hp. Howden Screw compressors directly driven by two 3412 CAT engines, 150hp. Mycom recip. Compressors, 600 & 200hp Vilter screw comp. and three cooling towers.

Repair, maintain and install plant electrical systems, equipment, and machinery as assigned. There will be approximately 80% maintenance & repair work and 20% installation. Reports to the Facility Maintenance Manager.
